Fresh array of breakfast granola and yoghart, juice, toast and jams and vegemite. Range of coffee and teas. Fresh range of fruit. Breakfast delivered evening prior.The accomodation was beautifully maintained and clean. Bed was comfy. A lovely verandah to sit and read with a glass of wine. Host Gin was very helpful. She arranged our transport to the airport without fuss. Location of Manor was good with a range of eating places a 5 minute walk. Location was close to town. Thanks to Gin for looking after us.

The room we had did not have a bath tub, but the shower was a large area so all good.

Everything! I liked it so much I have to itemise this review because I have so much to say: Location: a residential area close to restaurants and a shopping centre, but the central Christchurch area was not far away. It was quiet at night but still close enough to the centre that it was easy to get buses or taxis whenever needed. It’s also not a far drive from the airport! Facilities and layout: there were 4 of us staying in one of the 3-bed apartments across the road from the main manor. These apartments were perfect for us— very clean, modern, comfortable and well-equipped. Each unit was 3 floors high. Our unit had one big main bedroom + ensuite bathroom on the bottom floor, the living room/kitchen on the middle floor, and two bedrooms + one bathroom on the top floor. The kitchen area had a dishwasher, stove + oven, microwave, and separate washing machine + tumble dryer. We were staying 4 nights so it was nice to feel like we had a private home away from home. The stairs are a bit narrow and there was no lift so you may need to consider that when booking, but we were able to bring our suitcases up with no problem. The ceiling in the downstairs toilet is angled so maybe don’t put your tallest person in that bedroom. Staff: I cannot stress enough how great the staff are. They’re friendly and welcoming, but also really responsive to any requests for help and even helped us figure out how best to get to the airport for an early morning flight. They told us from the start where to find good places to eat nearby and gave their own recommendations too. I would absolutely book this place again next time I’m in Christchurch!

My stay at Merivale Manor was my first introduction to New Zealand! The facility and customer service was outstanding. There was such attention to detail in my room - it was comfortable, spotless and had lovely touches. The breakfast was also a highlight—I felt so welcomed and prepared for my hiking tour this week. I highly recommend Merivale Manor and thank the owners and staff for a beautiful experience.

Merival Manor excellent. Error with booking.com as bought the room as advsertised this would include breakfast which was essential ofr our familty as it was Christmas day and no other facilities open to us - this was not offfered by the hotel and did not appear on the final confirmation. Error is missold accomodation via the website which was dissaspointing,

Wayne is the perfect host, helpful and friendly, went beyond expectations on making us feel welcome. The room was clean and well equipped, we stayed in the apartments alongside the access road. This is a good location to explore the city and there are restaurants and cafes nearby. The rooms are quiet apart from in the morning when there was some noise from guests departing etc. We liked the daily room servicing and had a great stay.

The noise in the morning but this was not unacceptable. The bikes could do with servicing, although it was great to ride one around the city park in the morning and they re free.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect, could walk to the places we visited. Amazing shops down the road. Room was perfect. Very comfy bed, and having an electric blanket was 10/10. The spa bath was a great asset.

We weren't staying longer. Would love to have had a look at the library in a manor house.

Everything about this property was delightful. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. The apartment was clean, well appointed with high-level decoration and furnishings. it was an easy walk to local restaurants or a bar for a refreshing drink

The only downside was the road noise at Pete period but this could be addressed by closing the double glazed windows

Hosts were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. The garden around the property is beautiful and maintained by Phill to the highest standard. Very clean and comfortable with good laundry facilities.

Breakfast good. Location terrific. Staff really helpful. We would definitely stay again if in Christchurch. When booking the site was a bit misleading I’m not specifying that the rooms were not in the house.

Lovely comfortable bed and room with fully equipped kitchen area and nice luxury touches, immaculately clean. Very friendly and helpful owners. Great location with nice shops and restaurants a few minutes walk away.
