The room was totally sufficient for us. The breakfast was also ok. Especially the options that you could order were great, I've never had Eggs Benedict before. The hotel is relatively close to 2 subway stations (different lines), bus stations and also not far from Paddington (from where you can get directly to the airport).

The double bed was way too small and short for us. My husband is almost 2 metres, the bed was only 1,80m. Thus he lay on the bed in an S-shape, but then there was almost no space left for me because the bed also only was 1,50m wide. A little mini-fridge in the room would have been nice, but is not an absolute necessity for me. We also could not open the windows to let in some fresh air in the morning (probably because of security reasons). On the breakfast buffet the only choice of bread was toast, but there was no toaster (you could ask the staff to toast it in the kitchen though), several jams, one kind of cheese but no cold meat at all. Luckily there was also the extra menu that you could order from. So all in all I never left the breakfast room hungry.

Everything went smooth and perfect! I arrived minutes after my booking, they didn't realized I have done it but effective immediately they gave me my room and everything was perfect! The room was very tiny but for me alone was perfect! I had coffee and milk for breakfast and an electric kettle. They also left me some cookies that were delicious!

I think if I had to say something that wasn't good enough was that my room was on between floors and the lift didn't get there so I had to go down stairs half a floor with my luggage in order to get to my room. Anything else I would say was very good and comfortable!

Very nicely decorated , clean and bed was comfortable. Excellent breakfast.

I had room 206 which could be described as a glorified cupboard. I was comfortable whilst in bed, but the rest of the room was in my view not fit for purpose. It was exceedingly small and I had to squeeze sideways past the bed and could hardly lean over the sink as it was so m small and situated under a cabinet that I had to duck under to clean my teeth. As the hotel was full I couldn’t change rooms.

I stayed in room number 204 between 2nd and 1st floor. The room was really small (as announced) but enough for one person for a couple of nights. The room was clean and was equipped with everything necessary incl. a hair dryer and a kettle. The bed was ok, the blanked and he pillow really nice. There was enough light from the window and I was not disturbed by any sounds or smells. Good value for money. Location could not be better.

No major disadvantages, but: If you have a lot of clothes you need to hang, you might struggle. Unstable Wi-fi, you need to reconnect quite often, but the speed is ok. During my 3 nights stay, once I did not receive a spare toilet roll within the cleaning process, but apart of this the room was properly cleaned. In the end of my stay I called the reception and asked if they could send someone to help me with my luggage right before check out, but nobody came. You can let your luggage stay stored for a couple of hours before your departure, but it is just under the stairs, no locked room. There are rooms situated between the floors, as mine, be prepared to drag your luggage up or down the stairs as the lift does not stop "in the middle".

Newly renovated, still fresh. Lovely staff, welcoming and friendly. Super good location, close to the metro, city center, lots of pubs and restaurants, parks.

Rooms are small - to be expected for this neighbourhood. My room was on the ground floor, with doors opening towards the garden. Would have loved to have a little delimitation for that area, as it is it's a little uncomfortable having the doors open, as you can hear staff passing by.

Clean, well presented, good location and helpful staff

The hotel has a good location but it is a bit difficult to find at first and Ilchester gardens is a helpful clue! I like the conversion and my small (and quiet) room had all that I needed. It will be nice to have the option of breakfast at the hotel when the renovation has been completed. And, being elderly, I shall be glad of the lift. The staff were all polite and helpful. Not having to climb so many stairs up to the second floor and then down about 10 stairs to my secluded room!

Room was adequate size and very clean. Smart building. Check in was efficient and quick. Location great-short walk (5 mins) to numerous restaurants and 15 minute walk to Portabello Road.

No breakfast facility, but no problem as there are plenty of places within a short distance 2-3 mins that serve excellent breakfast if that is your need.

We had a lovely stay at this small, charming hotel. The location was brilliant for us. Quiet, but near lots of cafés and restaurants, between Kensington and Notting Hill and near Hyde Park. Transport is right nearby. The hotel was clean, nicely refurbished, the beds were comfortable, shower had good pressure and the staff were friendly and accomodating. I had requested an early check in if possible and although they could understandably not promise anything, the room was ready when we arrived.

We liked everything. If I were to think of something that could disturb others, do expect minimally furbished rooms. We didn't mind personally, but there is no minibar and we had soap and shampoo, but nothing else. Also be aware that the walls of such an old building doesn't meet todays insulation standards. But as we were happily located on the top floor and in a corner, we were not disturbed by noise. I would gladly stay here again.

The location was fantastic. Room was fairly quiet although you could hear the laundry people banging around next door of a morning but this was around 10-11am so wasn’t too much of an issue. Room was very clean, quite compact but this is mentioned in the booking and still managed to fit two suitcases (albeit very tight squeeze). Bathroom is great and the light behind the mirror is fantastic. Love that you can open the window. Street is fairly quiet for how close to the ‘action’ you are. 24 hour reception (to my knowledge)

The air conditioner filter needs cleaning as we were waking up with sore throats from running it overnight. But outside of that - glad there is air conditioning! Such a small complaint but to enter the property, there are quite a few stairs at the front and my suitcase was super heavy so that was a little tricky but as I said - small complaint, clutching at straws to mention this but thought worth flagging for anyone who may have trouble with this. And, TV isn’t a smart tv so can’t connect your phone to stream any shows but again - we weren’t staying at the hotel to stay in the room all day and binge shows so this wasn’t an issue.
