Excellent location close to Bayswater and Queensway tube stations, Hyde Park, shopping streets and dining options. The area feels like an oasis of calm in the middle of the city. Our room (no. 14) had a great colour scheme, very comfortable beds, a lovely view of the garden and a very convenient little tea kitchen. We also liked that we could sleep with the window open and listen to the garden fountain and the rustling of leaves. The staff were all helpful and kind, and we felt very welcome. Guests were a mix of short-term tourists like ourselves and more long-term residents, and this made for a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. In the evenings, the drawing room was a lovely quiet place to sit and read/knit. We would love to stay at the Vancouver again!

The staff were pleasantly accommodating when we asked to be moved out of the basement room assigned us. The rooms are large and comfortable. The location was perfect for the event we came to attend. The building was reasonably well maintained for an old building (as virtually all are in London; old I mean). The price was reasonable by London terms, although the value for money would be considered absurd in most other places.

Really, you have to temper your expectations in London. So it met our expectations. But I wouldn't take a basement room in any place in London.

It's in such a perfect location; quiet, but busy areas within a block or two, down the street from two different tube stops. This location was listed in Rick Steves book (which I saw after I had already booked it) and it deserves to be included. It's an older building, but it's so dang charming that I don't care.

I stayed here for 7 days and the ONLY con I had for the whole stay was that I asked for the trash to be emptied from the room and it wasn't. Other than that, I loved it here and I will absolutely book here again (because I will absolutely be coming to London again).

The location is excellent, very accessible by tube and bus. Staff were so kind and accommodating. You are required to drop off your room key at reception when you leave and pick up again when you return, this was super easy and there were no issues at all. The common areas are comfortable and beautifully decorated. We loved the garden so much! I feel that it was great value for money and would book again, but ask for a different room.

We were given a basement room that was right next to the laundry area. The room itself was bright and seemed newly renovated. However, it did sometimes feel like you were in the staff area of the property, and it took away from the hotel experience a bit. The light in the laundry shines right into the room, this wasn't an issue as they turned off the light most nights but it was left on on our last night and it did impact our sleep. The shower drainage was also very poor but staff were notified of this.

Small single room but with a lot in it. I stayed only one night so did not use cooking facilities, all of which were very clean, Ample tea and coffee sachets. Staff at reception polite and efficient, 15 minutes walk to Paddington. Reasonably priced for location. I did not have breakfast, but pleasant small dining room/bar. 24 hour reception, and, returning from dinner after midnight was offered beer from bar if required. This would be a great place to stay on a budget for anyone who wants to cater for themselves for some meals.

Steep narrow stairs, especially above second floor. Not a real problem for me but hard work with a case. Many guests may struggle. Very compact room with a bit of clutter - eg throw cushions on the bed and large plastic pot plant on table which took up space unnecessarily.

For a solo traveler who doesn't need much more than a shower and a good bed, this was more than I could have hoped for. Location is absolutely incredible, very fancy neighbourhood, perfectly positioned to reach everything in and around the city. Santander bikes just around the corner: who needs the metro (when there's no rain)? Loved my room especially because of the big window that I left open my whole stay (with the louvre blinds in front of it at night). Breezy, without missing the buzz of the city.

Unfortunately some things I asked for at the reception (new towels, new garbage bin bags) were not provided by the cleaning staff. Not a big deal though.

I loved the area, it was close to several bus and underground stations within 10min walking distance, a huge park (Hyde Park), shopping markets, cafes, home shops. I arrived at Heathrow airport in the evening, took the Elizabeth Line to Paddington Station, and walked to the hotel for about 15min, the area felt safe, and you basically just have to follow a straight line. The street of the hotel wasn't busy. I slept with open windows during the night. The room itself was big enought for one person with everyone one needs (small kitchen for cooking and fridge, wardrobe, small nook by the window to work+eat). Also enjoyed the decoration of the room and VERY comfy bed. Shower and toilets were clean, soap and conditioner was provided and had good quality. Room also had airconditioner but I didn't use it. Lots of tea and instant coffee, milk was provided for self-service. Staff was very friendly (I met 5 of them), and they did let me know that there is a gym that I can use as well as a nice garden area. Didn't have time for the gym but stayed in the beautiful garden after a busy day. The stairs are quite steep, which is common in English buildings, so I would recommend to book rooms on the lower levels if this is an issue for you. There is no elevator and you'll have to carry your luggage yourself. I booked the deluxe single room and stayed for 4 nights. I'd stay here again!

The location is great, not far from Bayswater tube station on circle line very close to both Paddington and euston stations and Victoria on the circle line. The breakfast is a simple continental style and sitting in the garden or drawing room is a bonus. The church bells ring 1/4 hourly but are turned off at night!you can wash and dry clothes for your next adventure. The bedroom whilst on the small side has everything one needs for a stay in London. You can heat food and there is a good small fridge.

The down side to this charming place are the stairs. If you are single you will find your self on the 3 or 4 floor. Stairs to 2 nd floor ok utter that the stair case has different step heights and very narrow with rope handrail. I managed to get my bag up but did ask for help to bring my bag down, as I was d frightened I would slip. Not good at 76! The staff were obliging and helpful.

Great location. Room was small but had everything you need. Front desk holds your key when you go out so you don’t need to worry about losing it. 24hr front desk.

Stairs were very steep and no elevator/lift which is tricky if you have a big or heavy suitcase. Water went out in the night and was not fixed until I returned later the next day and communication around this was not great. The front desk was very adamant that it was not their fault and there was nothing they could do until the repair man came which I appreciate but they could have been more sympathetic and proactive with providing rooms with bottled water for washing.

I love the atmosphere of this place, I was a solo traveler and felt extremely comfortable. Breakfast was very good, the selection was enough for a small place like this and the cappuccino and chocolate croissant were simply amazing. The room was small but I didn't need much room and it had everything I needed. A little plus point the cute courtyard at the back of the property. The hotel is on a quiet street but just a couple of minutes to the underground and right around the corner are plenty of shops and restaurants. Coming back to stay with a friend of mine in October and am looking forward to staying again!

Not much to comment on to be honest, maybe just getting new hairdryers but everything was great.
