The location was great, being part of the star complex meant there were many restaurants to go to right in the area of the hotel. It was also only a short walk from the beach and Pacific Fair. The rooms were immaculate and the pillows so comfortable. The pool was one of the most amazing I've ever experienced with a beautiful atmosphere. The whole place just felt luxurious with a not too expensive price tag. I highly recommend The Dorsett.

The only complaints I have is that the room service didn't work and tried to call reception and they didn't answer. Also the pool bar closes too early! Needs to be open until at least 7pm!!

I loved the location and the facilities, especially the pool area, very clean and staff were friendly

only thing that was disappointing is that I didn't get my bond money back from the room, even after they said it was okay and it should be back in my account in a few days, possibly got lost In transit, I'm not sure still kinda annoying

Loved the hotel . The Cafe was great . The staff in the Cafe were lovely and made the best coffee . The gentleman that works there was really funny and extremely friendly . Gabi was also lovely and friendly . Always nice when staff want to have a chat and enjoy working . Nothing was too hard when I asked for my coffee to be made in a certain way . . I also liked the free bottles of water. All staff were lovely and professional .

I really didn't like how people leave thier towels on the pool chairs This made it difficult to know whether the chair was taken or not .It was extremely frustrating. Staff need to monitor people leaving towels and walking away . Or make a sign ." Don't just leave towels on chairs when not in use" . Sorry but when you're on a holiday and you want to relax I don't feel I should be fighting over a chair . The orange lounges with cushions need to be cleaned .

The location was great with quick access to the beach and shops. You would easily be able to get around on the tram as well. I liked the fit out and cleanliness. There is room service options. The pillows were nice, the room was serviced. It wasn't too noisy. Staff were all incredibly friendly and they approached my daughter on arrival to gift her a teddy which was a lovely touch.

The only things I could suggest - give a spare blanket, the handwash is too far from the basin, put more spaces to hang towels and wet clothes, everyone is there to go to the beach or pool so a couple of extra hooks as well as towels would be a great touch. The inclusions in the way of tea/coffee water could be improved. Even just leaving some bottles of water and a light snack like biscuits would be a nice touch. I know about the carparking but I think most people would find it quite confusing on their first trip. I could also suggest some better offerings for room service breakfast.

The pool area was the highlight. Beautifully presented, loads of beds (just make sure you get there early for a shady spot) and the pool bar has excellent food and drinks for a good price. The room was comfortable and clean.

The reason why I have marked this hotel down is the staff. Some of the staff we encountered were quite rude and looked down their nose at you. We were out all day until 3pm and our room hadn’t been cleaned, so we went to reception to request it could be and she didn’t even look at my partner and just said ‘oh the cleaners must have gone home’. Didn’t offer any apology or an alternative. We also encountered a staff member being very rude to another right in front of customers which isn’t pleasant. It’s a real shame because the hotel was stunning, some staff just didn’t seem to care.

Thank you Dorsett for a lovely stay! We stayed here for a birthday celebration and were made to feel very welcomed. Staff were very friendly, checkin/check out was easy and quick. Location was AMAZING! Less than 5 minute walk to Broadbeach restaurant and cafes, and the beach was near by. On Easter Sunday there was Easter eggs hidden around the lobby which was cute of the hotel to do. Overall will definitely stay again and highly recommend

Breakfast was average but could have been better. The bed felt a bit small for a king so not sure if the room was mixed up.

The night staff was extremely helpful and accomodating after a very long and very tiresome day. He was exceptional. Night staff 100% a credit to the Dorsett. Day staff manager at front desk an unfriendly weprison guard who ruined what would have been a wonderiful stay.

The day staff at the front desk were horrid, the “manager” was rude and flippant, worst customer service I have ever encountered on my travels. The night staff was the best, so nice and smiling even at 1am. The day girl “manager” would have cracked her face if she ever tried to smile. Will not go there again because of her. How she is in charge I will never understand, what a bad example of customer service for the poor staff.

The location was great, aside from the fact you're still unable to exit the building on the south side, but I assume that will come when the second tower is finished. Sarah at reception was fantastic and went above and beyond for us. The room was new, clean, and well-insulated for sound. Great view of the canals over the back at sunset, if you don't like noise, pick those rooms over the front, you can't really see the beach anyway. Construction noise wasn't ever an issue.

Having to walk in and out either through the casino carpark or the Darling entry/exit is a hassle, especially when you're not super mobile, hopefully that will be rectified when the newer tower is finished construction. The pool was dirty and needed cleaning, and the pool bar/restaurant was barely open. They charge a credit card surcharge at the café but won't let you pay in cash.

Had the most incredible stay, originally booked one night, but added a second and didn't want to leave. Beautiful lobby with welcoming, helpful, friendly team on arrival. My room had an incredible view overlooking the pool, skyline and glimpses of the ocean. The team were lovely, attentive and they genuinely went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. My room felt beautifully relaxing, comfortable, fresh and modern. It was also super quiet in the room, soundproofing meant that I didn't hear a thing inside the room allowing me to make business calls and rest really well. The location was also ideal. I stayed because I was attending an event at the Convention Centre, which was just a few minutes walk through The Star lobby and over the covered walk way (all easy to navigate). Just a couple of minutes over the road is the beach, park area, neighbouring restaurants and cafes. Then across in the other direction, Pacific Fair shopping centre. All just a few mins walk. Being able to use the facilities next door at The Star makes it feel like you have a lot of spaces to explore and move around. Many different options for food, coffee and two pools to choose from. As a solo female staying here, I felt very comfortable, safe and well taken care of.

Nothing was inconvenient at The Dorsett, everything was perfect. I stayed in the middle of the week, so it was difficult to make the most of some of the restaurants at the neighbouring Star hotel which were closed for lunch. Such a small inconvenience and understandable, I'd just suggest planning ahead for which are open midweek if you're looking at dining in the neighbouring Star Hotel. Aside from that my stay was impeccable. I was leaving on Friday evening and everything felt fun and vibrant in The Star lobby and I didn't want to leave.

The Dorsett is a very beautiful and luxurious accommodation. The room was beautiful, great balcony view, the breakfast over at Harvest Buffet was spectacular. All of our staff interactions were great and really friendly and accommodating. We stayed mid week so quiet a few of the restaurants were closed earlier or in general, however there was still options for late night food inside the Sports Bar which was great. All in all, a real great night.

The only issue we came across and it seemed like a couple of other guests did too was locating the parking and the correct level for the entrance to the Dorsett, but this is very minimal.
