The hotel is quite close to the centre, a 5-minute walk from Santa Maria del Fiore. The staff is friendly and the breakfast was good, especially for an Italian breakfast. Also, I liked the coffee. The room is big and comfortable. I slept well and appreciated a quiet room/with good soundproofing. A good value for money.

The cleaning needs to be improved. I found that there was a lot of dust in my room(no.14) and didn't feel it was a proper cleaning for a 4* hotel. I have stayed at other 4* hotels in Florence(even 3*) and all of them were spotless and clean. Besides location and comfort of the room, I always choose a hotel based on cleanliness rating.

The hotel is excellent. Perfect location, very clean and comfortable, wonderful breakfast. No elevator and very steep stairs but for a building from the 16th century, this is expected...

I got a different type of room (in the new part of the hotel) from the one that I booked (which was classic and very beautiful). I asked at the reception desk and they told me that is the same type (which was obviously not the case). Finally, I got a discount and I remained in the given room which was OK. Not too much trouble, but felt a little dissapointed. That is why I reviewed the hotel with 9 instead of 10.

From the moment I arrived a was greeted by Andre at the front desk, the otel staff made every effort to enhance my stay. Anthony was very helpful bringing my luggage to the room, as well as displaying lots of patience with me with the code and key combination on the room safe. Lorenzo took great care of the guest s every morning at breakfast. He makes a delicious latte. As a bonus, Andre and Lorenzo prepared a lunch to go for me on the way to Le Pavoniere Golf Club in Florence.

On the first night, a water pipe outside my room was noisy, so Andre and Anthony arranged for a ans set me up in a quieter room for the next three nights.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and eager to have the guests have a great time. Everyone is super dog friendly and even when our dog had an 'accident' on the carpet (we are so sorry for that), they were very kind and even asked for our dog's wellbeing after. We had help unpacking and packing luggages and got great recommendations for going out at night from the reception. Thanks for that! We loved how close we were to the dome and had every location of the florentine old town in walking distance. The street is busy with nightlife and gastro and has a Carrefour just next door. There is american and italian breakfast and fresh made coffee in the morning.

One thing that wasn't quite clear to us is that there is no real parking spot, not even for a few minutes. The street is very narrow and any parking car blocks all traffic. We would have packed more efficiently to get out of the car quickly. The hotel did send info on parking our car well in advance, though.

The hotel is in a great location. Only a short walk to all the main attractions in Florence such as the Galleria, the Duomo, the markets, the main train station and Uffizi. The staff were lovely. Alessandro made us feel very comfortable and was there to help with any inquires we had during our stay. The breakfast was delicious. Room was newly renovated and lovely interior. Bed and pillows were comfortable.

The only downfall was it was an old building. There was no lift however Alessandro always made sure someone was there to help us with our suitcases upon arrival and departure. He also informed us that a lift will be installed in February.

A beautiful hotel located in the heart of Florence, with lovely staff who couldn’t do enough to help us both before our arrival via email and throughout our stay. Upon arrival, the staff took our bags to our room and handled them again when we checked out. We booked two rooms, one of which had a lovely balcony overlooking the pool area. Both rooms were spotless and included nice extras like slippers and additional toiletries. The rooms also had air conditioning, which was a welcome relief in the summer heat. The pool was a wonderful feature, with towels provided for guests. We chose not to book breakfast since the hotel's central location offers plenty of nearby options but we decided to try it on our last day for convenience, and it was perfectly fine .

Beautiful painted ceiling in our room! Good variety of breakfast buffet. Great location - many good restaurants on the block as well as a small grocery/wine shop. Friendly staff. Good value.

No elevator! Street was a bit noisy with the window open. While always clean, housekeeping was a little slapdash - sometimes we had coffee, sometimes not. But beds always made and towels fresh. No complaints.

The property has a lot of charm. Breakfast was awesome. Clean and great location. The pool was an added bonus for the kids.

The air conditioner did t keep our room cool enough. We think it was because we were the last room before the pool and they kept the outside door open all day which let the heat into our room. I also wouldn’t recommend the wine tasting. While the cellar was cute, they just leave you in the cellar. There is no dialogue to tell you about the wines or anything. We had to go find staff after an hour to see what the plan was.

Great location and friendly, helpful staff. There is a good range of food available for breakfast. The decor is a little tired but it gives the hotel a hint of faded glory which is charming.

I wouldn’t say that these were necessarily big problems, just things to be aware of. It’s an old building so there is no lift. The staff were great and on hand to help carry luggage so not a problem. Also, our room was at the front of the hotel and the street stays noisy until late. Double glazing mostly blocked out the noise.

Location is amazing. Super clean, which is the most important to us. Breakfast was very good and the staff was really friendly. They gave us a bottle of wine and to-go breakfast when we had to leave early and the room was super comfortable.

The elevator is not working. It worked for us but definitely inconvenient for guests and staff. To-go breakfast could be better, it was a bunch of pastries and water. We appreciated it but suggest including fruit, yogurt or bottled juice to enhance it
