Good-sized room, great breakfast.

Parking is too expensive. £15 per night after paying £500 for four nights to stay is too much.

Every member of the team we met/had contact with during our stay was welcoming, professional, polite and went above and beyond - An excellent team Layout of hotel was good Food good quality, room service delivered promptly, food hot. Rugby was on, on the day of our stay - so the traffic was busy, we phoned the hotel for advice/assistance on how to access and they were very helpful guiding us to the hotel / parking.

Our room was a little chilly on the day, having said that we were not uncomfortable and chose not to contact reception / one of the team to assist us. Based on how attentive everyone was around the hotel I am confident the matter would have been resolved if we had a problem. We were not uncomfortable (had we been, we would not have hesitated in contacting reception) and chose not to request assistance, the communal areas were lovely and warm We will 100% be returning to stay again in the future 😊

Within walking distance to everything we wanted to do like the lights in Bute park and shopping. Carpark is a bonus Our view was overlooking the park and although also roadside it was quiet. Clean and comfortable and all staff we met were excellent including housekeeping. Lovely hot water in shower. Check in quick and easy and ladies on reception very helpful. Great choice of food at breakfast. Didn't eat evening meal so can't comment

Pillows were not to my liking but that's a personal thing. A little noisy when we stayed but there were Christmas parties taking place

This is a suggestion an not a complaint. I booked the hotel because parking was available when booking online, but no mention that parking is at an additional cost. Maybe just mention that parking is at an additional cost so that clients arrive prepared. I thought that the parking was a bit expensive for Holliday Inn guests / clients.?? Absence of USB ports /plugs in our room. I suggest maybe install USB ports / plugs in the rooms for charging cellphones.

We stay every year in this hotel for the rugby. Previously our stay has been fantastic, however this year the room was appearing tiered. The reception staff excellent as always, the room servicing team were pleasant but didn’t understand us. The restaurant team previously were always very good, however on this occasion one lady lets them down. She is very sharp tongued with no concept of customer service. All other team members in the restaurant seemed only too happy to help. What a shame she lets them down, a smile and a friendly nature goes a long way.

I visited Cardiff with my son to see the Speedway GP at Principality Stadium, he was very pleased to be able to see the stadium from our room. Breakfast was good, maybe a little bit chilly to sit there in the morning though. Location, as I already mentioned, was for us excellent. Close to our main goal for this trip and also close to the City Centre for lunch and dinner and just strolling the town. We also had our first live view of Bowls without leaving the room, a sport that is very rare in Sweden... :)

The bathroom was by British standards ok I guess. We are Swedish and maybe a little bit picky on this, but still... no toilet brush, one of the mornings there were almost no hot water in the shower. No big deal.

The location of the hotel was perfect for the purpose of my visit (academic collaboration with Cardiff University staff). Its location is within walking distance from the station (I chose the river walk), and city centre shops and restaurants. I especially enjoyed the park opposite. The staff were professional, helpful and friendly.

The hotel furnishings and fittings appear to be a bit tired and worn, but are generally well maintained and clean. However, the location and staff outweigh any negatives.

Fantastic location for exploring cardiff city centre, a few minutes walk into the heart of the centre. Bute park is just across the road. Together with the location and the hotel's own car park was the seller for me. The car park is 15 pounds for 24 hours (time starts from purchasing online). We arrived around 6.30pm on Friday night but still managed to get a space (the car park is pretty compacted). The mobile phone paying system for the car park on arrival was easy to use with scanning instructions posted at the entrance of car park; however, if you get tired like me after a long drive, be careful to select your leaving time accurately. Luckily, I checked and asked at reception to rectify my mistake of selecting an am departure instead of pm. The room was comfortable but a little worn. Has the usual amenities in the room..towels, shower gel and shampoo, kettle and tea bags for making tea (but you need to search for these). Recommend visiting National Museum Cardiff, it is free and so much to see, around a 13 minutes walk. 'Fabulous' Welsh cakes are worth a try when they are nice and hot, 2 minutes walk.

No information was provided upon check in about where to obtain WiFi access but I discovered this by accident when using the tv remote. A QR code appears if you press a button on the top right of the remote that looks like a screen with lines. Also be mindful that the WiFi logs out if you shut the tv down. For some odd reason, the tea, coffee and biscuits tray together with the kettle was placed under the table in an enclosed compartment right on the bottom shelf. Not obvious if you just open the door of the cabinet to glance.

I was really happy with my room. It was small but perfect for a single person and I had absolutely everything I needed. Just right. There was a beautiful view over a lovely park which I wasn't expected (went for a long walk in the morning). I really appreciated being able to log in to my personal Netflix account also - this is a great solution to Hotel room telly! Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfat was good. Location also brilliant for Cardiff, easy to get to anywhere in the town.

Fantastic location for match day right by the stadium. And despite that was quiet enough in the evening/night. Check in and check out couldn’t have been made easier. Breakfast was great and self service meant you could have as much as you wanted.

Beds could have been more comfortable. One of ours had been wheeled in - but to be honest it was what we needed all sharing together. The cleaning could have been a bit more thorough we found a couple of nuts on the floor when we checked in for the first time.
