Everything was great regarding staff, service and the breakfast. The room was clean and so nice to have a large TV in the room. The toiletries provided were much better than other hotels we've stayed in, in standard rooms. The room was really quiet at night, no external noise we were aware of so we had a great night's sleep with a comfortable bed. Our room was on the top floor (6th floor) which may have helped as other reviews commented on noise from the room above. We were at the front overlooking the park. Even though it was on a main road, with the window closed we didn't hear any noise. The breakfast was very nice and had lots of choice with all items on the cooked breakfast being hot. Many hotels seem to have some cooked items that are warm, not hot, so this was a big positive. Overall a great stay 😊 took 1 point away due to the price.

Only negative was the price. Too expensive for a standard double.

The condition of the room and its bathroom falls below expectations. The furnishings and decor appear outdated, and cleanliness was not up to standard. There was no refrigerator. In my opinion, the accommodation quality aligns more closely with a 3-star rating. A thorough renovation is needed.

Beds were clean but uncomfortable...couldnt sleep well. Breakfast..have a mushroom allergy...staff couldnt make me a single breakfast separately...offered me clean tongs ect...not good enough...its cross contamination...I explained this...luckily a fresh tin off scrambled eggs and beans appeared...I couod eat that...but nothing else... Staff MUST be trainned better...an allergy is an allergy...you HAVE to accommodate.... 15 pounds for scrambled eggs and beans....NO BACON...OR ANYTHING else Any other hotel I go to and pay THE SAME MONEY FOR A BREAKFAST....they take an order and cook it separately for me. Everything else was great.

Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Restaurant staff in the evening attentive, breakfast staff very attentive and without asking remembered on the second day my vegan hot food requirements, all staff including house keepers very approachable and friendly. The room was very clean, the beds were very comfortable. Good selection of food at breakfast

The bedroom was looking a bit tired and outdated. The carpets had some frayed edges and the bedside cabinets were faded, there were no net / sheer curtains although there was a rail for these. The bath was deep and there wasn't rail to assist when stepping in and out.

The reception staff were fantastic - offered to move their own cars so we could fit in the car park, were really chatty and friendly, helped us arrange late check out. The location is also ideal - right next to all the restaurants, the stadium, the castle etc. Good smart tv in the room which we could use to connect to Netflix and other streaming services and a nice big window with views of the stadium.

I think for a basic room, without breakfast, £109 for one night is a little steep, however, we looked at other hotels in the area and this was about on par so can't complain too much.

Every member of the team we met/had contact with during our stay was welcoming, professional, polite and went above and beyond - An excellent team Layout of hotel was good Food good quality, room service delivered promptly, food hot. Rugby was on, on the day of our stay - so the traffic was busy, we phoned the hotel for advice/assistance on how to access and they were very helpful guiding us to the hotel / parking.

Our room was a little chilly on the day, having said that we were not uncomfortable and chose not to contact reception / one of the team to assist us. Based on how attentive everyone was around the hotel I am confident the matter would have been resolved if we had a problem. We were not uncomfortable (had we been, we would not have hesitated in contacting reception) and chose not to request assistance, the communal areas were lovely and warm We will 100% be returning to stay again in the future 😊

Parking is too expensive. £15 per night after paying £500 for four nights to stay is too much.

Bed was ok without being amazing, Breakfast was excellent. We only stayed for 1 night so we got what we expected and what we paid for. Location was great as it was close to things we wanted to see, the staff member that checked us in was amazing and helped with early check in and late checkout.

The bed and pillows were ok without being super comfy, Bathroom was small but again matched what we paid for/ expectations. The staff members for checkout weren't quite so customer focused as the previous day and looked like it was the last place they wanted to be.

Within walking distance to everything we wanted to do like the lights in Bute park and shopping. Carpark is a bonus Our view was overlooking the park and although also roadside it was quiet. Clean and comfortable and all staff we met were excellent including housekeeping. Lovely hot water in shower. Check in quick and easy and ladies on reception very helpful. Great choice of food at breakfast. Didn't eat evening meal so can't comment

Pillows were not to my liking but that's a personal thing. A little noisy when we stayed but there were Christmas parties taking place

Fantastic reception, friendly and helpful staff. Room view over Cardiff Arms Park. Fantastic location for our needs. Comfortable room. Comfortable bed. Clean bathroom. Warm shower. Superb breakfast.

This is a suggestion an not a complaint. I booked the hotel because parking was available when booking online, but no mention that parking is at an additional cost. Maybe just mention that parking is at an additional cost so that clients arrive prepared. I thought that the parking was a bit expensive for Holliday Inn guests / clients.?? Absence of USB ports /plugs in our room. I suggest maybe install USB ports / plugs in the rooms for charging cellphones.
