We booked the Lorenzo for our last two nights in New Zealand prior to flying home from Christchurch. The motel is handily placed on the right side of the city to reach the airport by taxi but also for walking into the city centre (a 35-40 minute walk through Hagley Park and the Botanic Gardens). We also discovered that the Number 3 bus runs from the Bus Interchange on Colombo Street to almost right outside the Lorenzo. This proved useful having been out in Christchurch on our last evening. The bus also runs to the airport but we decided not to risk it with two large suitcases - it is not a dedicated airport bus with lots of room for luggage! The motel was very clean and tidy and had all the facilities we needed for our two nights. We were made very welcome by the staff on reception. There are bars and restaurants nearby although we didn't use them. Would definitely stay at the Lorenzo again.

Central to a good number of places to get good food (2025) by walking. Authentic Japanese, Chinese and Korean restaurants as well as an Irish bar plus 2 other Taverns. Found a Mexican restaurant that was like a subway, where you could make up your own Taco, Burrito etc. that was delicious! Down near the corner (towards Hagley Park) we found a 24 Night/Day store, like a corner diary with everything from pies and fried chicken to sweet cake slices and Thick shakes - an everything store. All of this, just a short walk in both directions. Also being located central in the city, it's a good place to stay to cover all bases for shopping. Hostess was very pleasant and helpful. Were given a decent amount of milk for the room. I was very happy about this. The room had a mini bar and basket, so if you don't want to go out there is the option to purchase in house beverages and snacks and the prices are reasonable (great if you want to stay in!). Had the Spa bath room and enjoyed a much needed long hot soak. I put all the hot water in! But after a 2 hour soak there was hot water again, no worries for a morning shower as well. (Or you could do it the other way around ;) )

I didn't like that couldn't stay longer, lol. Traffic wasn't too bad, but we were not there at peak time.

This little property did exceptionally well. Lovely clean rooms and well set out in the middle of most things. There is a nandos across the road, 3 minutes walk and a small supermarket in the community mall not too far from there. The room was quiet and secure. Despite the weather, the small outdoor setting was clean and lovely to sit at during breakfast. The lady at the desk was very considerate and very polite. We would recommend this place to anyone willing to stay at a secure central location. We will definately be back.

Spacious comfortable rooms. We had plenty of space to open two big suitcases and there was also a small kitchen annexe with microwave, fridge, minibar, and the table with two chairs. There are plenty of restaurants, shops, and bars around even though it's not the city centre strictly speaking. The rooms are super clean, modern, comfortable, so is the bathroom. The room was warm and there was enough space to park a car outside off the street - this was great compared to any hotels and lodges closer to the city centre which have limited parking. The walk to the centre takes approximately 30 mins, there are also buses outside. The proximity of the park is also a plus - you can have a nice walk along the river to the Botanic Gardens and the city centre.

Nothing really, just be prepared that it is not a city centre location, just a street with multiple motels and motor lodges.

This motel is in a brilliant position for Hagley Park, the Botanical gardens and the city centre. There are lots of bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity. It is immaculate, comfortable and great value for money with very helpful staff. For a city centre location - not too noisy and an immaculate kitchen area with coffee machine and microwave plus lots of utensils. We would definitely return.

For a city centre position - perfectly appointed.

Location was great, walking distance to the city and the beautiful botanic gardens. Lots of restaurants and shopping walking distance. Parking on site. Room very comfortable and clean. House keeping every day. Lovely ground floor unit with cute little sunny courtyard.

Only issue was the facilities page states "Bar-b-q" but there isn't any gas bottle......

We stayed in a one bedroom suite and it was lovely; clean, enough room for our luggage and a nice kitchenette and bathroom. We were there for four nights and it was really comfortable. Staff were very helpful and efficient. Location is really good, just a short way from Hagley Park. We caught the bus to the airport and the bus stop was just a few minutes walk from Lorenzo's.

We arranged a trip to Christchurch in July back in April. Initially, we booked another accommodation, but after comparing reviews and careful consideration, we decided to switch to Lorenzo Motor Lodge. It turned out to be a very good decision. The location is convenient, with many different styles of restaurants and bars nearby. The room is quiet and comfortable, and all the amenities seem to be updated frequently, so they are very clean and new.

Upgraded one of the rooms which was very helpful as we have two children. Rooms very clean with great showers. All the sky channels was a bonus and nice coffee machines. Great location close to park and cricket ground.

The train that passed nearby at various times but it wasn't too bad

First impressions were that this motel was old style on a busy road but don't let that put you off. We had the two bedroom, one bathroom spa unit number 3. On entering we noticed that the heaters had been put on for us and that it felt very welcoming. Nothing in the unit was old and dingy. Bedrooms were spacious, beds comfortable, electric blankets, good sized bathroom with modern equipment. Liked the thought that went into the decor throughout the apartment, from choice of wall colour to decent furniture. The kitchenette was well equipped and supply of tea, coffee etc was not mingy. Reception was smiling and communication was excellent. There are a number of restaurants in close walking distance. Access and parking very good. easy access to the airport - 10 minutes by car. This is one of the best apartments of this type [city] I have stayed in.
