Close to central Riccarton which was very convenient, and surprisingly quiet even though it is situated on the main road. The staff were friendly and the unit was great for our needs. Checkin and checkout were a breeze. Lots of restaurants within walking distance, the mall just up the road, and a convenience store and bus stops close by, also. It is just a short walk into Hagley Park.

The shower was very small and a bit dated so it could do with an upgrade as the floor felt soft under the shower. It would also be useful to have a light about the mirrors in the bathroom and bedroom as it was a bit dark for doing makeup and putting in contact lenses.

After reading all those bad reviews we were a bit hesitant of booking at this place but to our suprise we were very happy with the attention from the owner who is very kind and make everything possible to ensure we had a good and quiet stay. The room provided was very clean and the kitchenette was equipped with all we needed. The place is a few blocks from Christchurch botanical garden.

First night the person next to us was quite noisy but after talking with the owner he immediately provided us with different room so the rest of our stay was ok!

Great location just on the edge of Hagley Park with a range of eating options and shopping nearby. The staff were very helpful and friendly, very quickly sorting out any issue and helping with our laundry while we went to watch the cricket. The kitchen area in the room was well equipped.

Not the most comfortable bed. Bathroom fan was rather noisy.

Samhil Motor Lodge was in an excellent location being close to Hagley Park and the CBD. It meant we could park our car and walk into the city to explore Christchurch. It was also close to restaurants. The room was comfortable and clean with good wifi. We took our own breakfast and the motel had all we needed to prepare meals. We were greatly warmly when we arrived and were given milk for our drinks. A good value stay.

We needed to do some laundry and although there is a washing machine available it didn’t appear to be in good condition or particularly clean so we went to a laundromat up the road

Central location, yet quiet. Spacious and good parking. Comfortable beds. Good shower pressure. Good kitchenette facilities.

I have no complaints, just suggestions. Would be great to have an ice cube tray in the fridge/freezer. Would be great of you can provide an additional cushion for people who sleep with two.

Excellent motel, very clean and staff are all great. Even stored some luggage for me for a couple of days. The room rate was fantastic value as they room was spacious, had everything needed to ensure a great stay! Will definitely be back.

Nothing at all

Great bed, and a very well appointed modern kitchenette! The unit warmed and stayed warm easily. Only a few blocks to the mall and a range of eateries across the road.

Broken security stays on the bathroom window meant I couldn't leave the window open for ventilation while not in the unit.

The owners were really lovely and friendly. Offered to change rooms for us when they realise my mum was with me so she didn’t have to do the stairs. Their rooms are cleaning, tidy and the beds so comfortable.

Great location, easy to get around for working in the city, convenient night 'n day across the road and petrol stations nearby if needed, close to the park have stayed here more than once, and will stay here again.

Proximity to a range of useful shops. Parking close to unit. Competitive price. Warmth. Comfort. Reliable wifi.

Windows not clean outside, some paved areas slippery, toilet not an efficient flusher.
