Location is great with just a short walk to Mermaid Quay. The room (superior king) was large and light and airy with views over part of the bay. Bed very comfortable with good quality bedding.

The price of parking is extortionate. When I have stayed at other city centre hotels that do not have their own car park the hotel has given a discount - that would seem reasonable for the price of the rooms. Towels in bedroom were not white and fluffy - they were clean but a bit scratchy and slightly grey. Not sure who rates the hotel but I didn’t feel like it was a 5* more like a good 4*.

It’s honestly been a longtime dream of mine to stay at this hotel, ever since I saw it for the first time. I’ve had such a great time here, and my stay couldn’t have been any better! The whole staff was welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. The room was even better than I imagined and the view of the bay was just stunning. The spa is very nice as wen, great sauna and multiple pools. The breakfast was amazing too, plenty of variety and again a very beautiful view. I’m so happy I’ve finally managed to stay here and, hopefully, I’ll have the opportunity to come back in the future! I cannot recommend this hotel enough!

The reception staff were lovely and the cocktails at the bar were superb.

I was informed the day before our stay that the hydro pool would be out of action due to maintenance. On arrival to the spa, this wasn't the case, but we were not informed at check-in that this was no longer the case. Our room was on the 5th floor and really quite shabby and dated (we've stayed in better rooms previously) and the bathroom in need of a serious upgrade. Breakfast was average compared to previous stays, no decaf drinks options on offer, and felt as if we were being watched to hurry out. We love this hotel but definitely lacking it's 5* status on this occasion, which was disappointing as this is most definitely not reflected in the cost.

Location. Great to be by the sea with the views across the bay and over Mermaid Quay. Very relaxing. Good to be near the railway station to get in/out of city centre. Nice to be near, but not in the very centre of the city. Convenience of the city centre, but with a very relaxed feel to it. Enjoyed a stroll to Mermaid Quay in the morning after breakfast, for a lovely coffee. Room. Very clean, spacious and comfortable. Bed was great - first class. The room phone looked a bit dated, but otherwise excellent. Staff. Very friendly and helpful all round, from main reception to the health suite and bar/breakfast. Very good. Health suite/pool. Great to have this facility - nice to have a gentle swim in the morning and to use the whirlpool. Adds to the relaxation of our stay. Parking. Easy and very convenient.

Breakfast. Not quite working as well here. The buffet breakfast was a little cold. Working out how the toasters operate is a total mystery and they take a long time to cook/toast.

The room was lovely and very clean. Comfy beds. staff were so friendly and helpful. we enjoyed using the spa and the location of the hotel is perfect. we were able to do everything we wanted to do within close proximity to the hotel. we're also surprised to see the hotel is dog friendly. Worth knowing if you're taking your dog away with you.

As a coeliac I was a bit disappointed at the lack of choice for breakfast in the morning. Although there were spoons/tongs provided for all the hot foods and fruits, it was clear that some residents were using the same tongs to pick up a variety of item to put on their plates. Also there was no option of gluten free yoghurts/pastries available. I was concerned about the issue of cross contamination

As a couple we are very keen gardeners. Flower pots placed around this beautiful hotel need planting with summer flowers. They are currently dead or empty. I would kindly suggest management take a look across the bay at The Old Custom House Restaurant entrance. It is enhanced with colourful non stop begonias and various bedding. Perfect for a photo opportunity.

The room and bathroom was wonderful and perfect for what we wanted. The view from our room was gorgeous 😍 Loretta from the morning buffet staff is the sunshine of your restaurant she is just absolutely awesome! Helpful, kind, friendly and everything a hostess should be.

Your restaurant was a big dissapointment. We had half board and each time Carolina would force the set menu onto us. Your set menu was okay, but they way they cooked what ever was on set menu was horrible!! The salmon was over cooked, the dessert apple crumble was horrible!!! Each time we had to ask for the ala carte menu or the bar menu (we were allowed to order from it - but we had to ask each and every time for it) The set menu never changed - our last night we went to a different restaurant. The service charge that gets added on automatically took us by surprise.... let us choose how much we would like to give, don't just add it to our final bill. I would not recommend your restaurant to anyone. It gets a 1 star from me.

The friendly and helpful staff. The excellent accessibility for my disabled husband. Roomy lifts, lovely wide doorways, a massive wet room. Room for a mobility scooter to do a 3 point turn and a zimmer frame as well. Lovely view over the bay. Gorgeous swimming pool and spa. Comfy beds. Balcony. Delicious food. Disabled parking directly opposite in free car park.

The set menu for the included evening meal was the same for 3 days out of 4. You could use a £30 amount towards the other menu. But it was very limited choice, though tasty. Nobody wants to eat the exact same dinner 3 nights in a row. We left behind a phone charging cable. Phoned when we got back and they had found it. Charged £10 for it to be posted. But now over 9 days later no cable, and they are not getting back to us about it though we have phoned several times.

Location was good for us, use of the spa facilities was a good bonus. Good selection of drinks at the bar. Food was fresh and tasty. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

The room air conditioning didn’t seem to work as we were only doing a 2 night stay we didn’t bother complaining. The room was warm and comfortable, could’ve done with a hoover in the corners of the room. The car park was expensive at £25 per night or £24 for the bigger car park next door. Both were full so someone has made a fortune out of that. Parking is the only thing that would stop me coming back for a longer stay.

Both white bedspreads had small stains ( probably blood or similar difficult to remove) on them which had been washed but the stain remained. I did not make a fuss about this but I am sure some would find this unacceptable. The hotel has a "barefoot" policy so no slippers are provided. I'd suggest you bring your own unless you wish to purchase them from the hotel (£3.50 each). The car park is expensive but it seems safe and secure so maybe just goes with the territory. (About £25 for 24 hours).
