Location is great with just a short walk to Mermaid Quay. The room (superior king) was large and light and airy with views over part of the bay. Bed very comfortable with good quality bedding.

The price of parking is extortionate. When I have stayed at other city centre hotels that do not have their own car park the hotel has given a discount - that would seem reasonable for the price of the rooms. Towels in bedroom were not white and fluffy - they were clean but a bit scratchy and slightly grey. Not sure who rates the hotel but I didn’t feel like it was a 5* more like a good 4*.

It’s honestly been a longtime dream of mine to stay at this hotel, ever since I saw it for the first time. I’ve had such a great time here, and my stay couldn’t have been any better! The whole staff was welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. The room was even better than I imagined and the view of the bay was just stunning. The spa is very nice as wen, great sauna and multiple pools. The breakfast was amazing too, plenty of variety and again a very beautiful view. I’m so happy I’ve finally managed to stay here and, hopefully, I’ll have the opportunity to come back in the future! I cannot recommend this hotel enough!

The reception staff were lovely and the cocktails at the bar were superb.

I was informed the day before our stay that the hydro pool would be out of action due to maintenance. On arrival to the spa, this wasn't the case, but we were not informed at check-in that this was no longer the case. Our room was on the 5th floor and really quite shabby and dated (we've stayed in better rooms previously) and the bathroom in need of a serious upgrade. Breakfast was average compared to previous stays, no decaf drinks options on offer, and felt as if we were being watched to hurry out. We love this hotel but definitely lacking it's 5* status on this occasion, which was disappointing as this is most definitely not reflected in the cost.

The room and bathroom was wonderful and perfect for what we wanted. The view from our room was gorgeous 😍 Loretta from the morning buffet staff is the sunshine of your restaurant she is just absolutely awesome! Helpful, kind, friendly and everything a hostess should be.

Your restaurant was a big dissapointment. We had half board and each time Carolina would force the set menu onto us. Your set menu was okay, but they way they cooked what ever was on set menu was horrible!! The salmon was over cooked, the dessert apple crumble was horrible!!! Each time we had to ask for the ala carte menu or the bar menu (we were allowed to order from it - but we had to ask each and every time for it) The set menu never changed - our last night we went to a different restaurant. The service charge that gets added on automatically took us by surprise.... let us choose how much we would like to give, don't just add it to our final bill. I would not recommend your restaurant to anyone. It gets a 1 star from me.

The friendly and helpful staff. The excellent accessibility for my disabled husband. Roomy lifts, lovely wide doorways, a massive wet room. Room for a mobility scooter to do a 3 point turn and a zimmer frame as well. Lovely view over the bay. Gorgeous swimming pool and spa. Comfy beds. Balcony. Delicious food. Disabled parking directly opposite in free car park.

The set menu for the included evening meal was the same for 3 days out of 4. You could use a £30 amount towards the other menu. But it was very limited choice, though tasty. Nobody wants to eat the exact same dinner 3 nights in a row. We left behind a phone charging cable. Phoned when we got back and they had found it. Charged £10 for it to be posted. But now over 9 days later no cable, and they are not getting back to us about it though we have phoned several times.

Excellent breakfast . Evening meal was very good. Excellent swimming pool and clean changing facilities Tricia on reception gave us a very warm and helpful initial meeting Great room with a view as I had requested All the staff were very nice and helpful.

Both white bedspreads had small stains ( probably blood or similar difficult to remove) on them which had been washed but the stain remained. I did not make a fuss about this but I am sure some would find this unacceptable. The hotel has a "barefoot" policy so no slippers are provided. I'd suggest you bring your own unless you wish to purchase them from the hotel (£3.50 each). The car park is expensive but it seems safe and secure so maybe just goes with the territory. (About £25 for 24 hours).

Large, modern hotel with good spa area. The service was exceptional and the warmest thing about the hotel. Thank you David on Reception - there was another guy as well I'm so sorry I didn't get his name.

The reason I haven't given the hotel top marks is that when we arrived we couldn't find a space in the hotel car park, with nowhere else to try as the hotel is right on the bay. We had to hang around until someone moved, then had to pay a significant day rate. We usually book more coaching inn-type stays where parking is free to guests so it was a really cold start. To be fair, this is clearly stated on the booking confirmation, so at least it wasn't a surprise.

Stunning location, as beautiful as I remember from last year. First room was bigger with a bath and shower but broken air con and was far too hot. Maintenance person sorted room change within half hour, gave me drink vouchers and staff moved my luggage for me. Pool area was brilliant again. Breakfast delicious - great to have vegan bacon as well as sausages and avocado and soya yogurt. Lovely service. Very comfortable bed. Fantastic views from balcony overlooking bay. Nature reserve and bird calls so relaxing. Location excellent for town, quay, venues and outdoor life.

Decaf coffee at breakfast is horrible Nestlé instant. Would like vegan pastries. Wardrobe is cramped. Nowhere to hang dresses, long tops and coats.

Beautiful hotel, great location and very friendly staff. View over Cardiff Bay was stunning. Extremely clean inside and the kids got a free bag of chocolate eggs for Easter.

Unfortunately there were issues with the Chlorine levels in the pool which was one of the main reasons I booked this hotel so the kids could have a swim. I Took them down for a swim at 3pm when it opened but was told to come back at 4pm, then at 4pm was told it wouldn’t be open at all but then they did open it around 5pm but then everyone was asked to get out again around 6pm so little be disappointing. The children can’t use any of the jacuzzi or heated swim area next to the pool or the Gym either and this wasn’t clear when booking which again was a shame because it meant they couldn’t use any of the facilities.

Everything. Over the last 10 or so years I have visited at least 5 times and it never fails to disappoint. The hotel has received an upgrade since I last came and it’s the same feel, but newer and it’s great! The bedroom was wonderful, and we had a duel aspect room. The best room I’ve had an appreciated as I brought my partner here for the first time for her birthday. We brought our dog with us. Yes there’s a charge of £30, but they provided us with dog bed and bowls and he was very happy. I love that there’s no ‘dog rooms’ either. We ate in the restaurant as it was late when we arrived and the food was expensive but lovely and weren’t in the mood to go out and find something. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Another thing I love is the pool, and the fact that the hotel doesn’t charge residents for use - something which it seems is becoming more regular. Please don’t ever change this.

The only thing I don’t like is that the parking is £24/24 hours. It is the going rate though, but does make me consider how many days I visit for.
