The upper floors have a good view of the city.

Though we stayed on the 16th floor, we still heard fire trucks loud noise now and then because the fire station is just opposite. Cant imagine the lower floors.

It would be really difficult to find a hotel with a better location in River North than Hyatt Place. Less than a five minute walk to all the great shops on the Magnificent Mile but far enough away to avoid most of the congestion. The free continentals breakfast in the morning is also a boon considering how expensive Chicago can be.

Only downside I'd say is the noise from outside. The walls are surprisingly hollow and do not block out sound very much at all. Even that is only a minor downside though since the hotel tries to resolve the issue by handing out free ears plugs and also supplying sound machines.

The hotel had a welcoming atmosphere with clean, well-maintained rooms and a modern, comfortable design. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the location was perfect for exploring the city. We especially appreciated the smooth check-in process and the overall convenience throughout our stay.

Overall, our stay was pleasant, but there were a few areas that could be improved. The noise level at night was a bit higher than expected, which made it slightly difficult to sleep.

I loved the location to everything downtown. My husband and I did not rent a car and we were able to get to just about everything that we had planned to do within a 20 minute walk. Navy Pier. 360 Chicago and the Starbucks Reserve to name a few are very close by. The staff was very friendly at check-in. We had an issue with our room being way too hot and they quickly let us know that the AC unit had recently gone out but that they had someone working to restore it. While we did spend two nights hot and sweaty, we enjoyed the stay overall. Breakfast was also very delicious and more upscale than your "traditional" hotel breakfast buffet. We loved our house keeper Estefany. Marisol and Jose at the front desk were also our favorites at the front desk. They were both very welcoming and attentive.

The location of the AC vent was terrible. I am not sure who thought it would be a good idea to have a large vent directly in front of the bed. This wasn't a huge issue the first two nights because the air was out but once it came back on I did not enjoy sleeping directly under the vent. We stayed in a corner room so maybe the other rooms are not like that.

Cleanliness, location, rooms rather spacious, staff is great, beds are comfortable and the lobby atmosphere has a great vibe.

Property is on same street as the fire department station, since the hotel windows are not sound proof, the fire trucks sirens would go off several times a night while we were sleeping, thus waking us up! During our 3 nights stay we heard sirens going off numerous times every night. I recommend ear plugs if you are planning to stay at this hotel. Last thing is that breakfast gets a passing grade, nothing outstanding.

While we didn't use the valet parking option offered, there were plenty of self-park options within walking distance! The staff was super friendly and helpful - always ready to help, and went as far as holding the elevator and greeting us each time we walked through the door! The rooms, (especially for Chicago) were so big and clean! We were able to walk to nearly everything, which was a big sell for us. Bars, dinners, etc. Will definitely stay again :)

We really liked the location, vibe of the hotel, ease of getting checked in and out, and the room was nice and clean. We drove so pulled up in the alley way next to the hotel and they allowed us 15 minutes to check in and drop things off before we parked. The person there was very friendly. Loved that there was a Dohm sound machine as that’s what I use at home and it was a pleasant surprise. The shower was very powerful which was fantastic! Body wash, shampoo, and container in the showers. I never use those but did this time. They exceeded my expectations. Breakfast was very good with many options. The hotel was very clean and safe. All the staff that I encountered was very friendly. I enjoyed having the lights from the buildings in the evening. I loved my view from my bed. So appreciative that our view wasn’t a brick wall. We have had many brick wall views in the past.

Breakfast was really good, but very congested. We stood in line for a very long time, so when I went to get my coffee a few minutes before closing, they had taken the coffee away. Didn’t expect for the coffee to go until they closed the doors. Not a big deal as we only allowed 45 minutes for breakfast not knowing it would be so busy. I’m sure on a non-holiday weekend it wouldn’t have been a problem. I did notice after I had gone out and grabbed a coffee that there was coffee in the lobby. I didn’t know that that was there, so this really isn’t a negative, just an awareness. The only other negative was the pull out bed. Mattresses on those are usually thin, but it was very lumpy and uncomfortable. However, we were appreciative to have an extra space.

The hotel itself was great. The staff were amazing! Very helpful and courteous. Parking was pricey, but as far as we understand it was cheaper than a lot of other options, and it was valet parking. The location was great, within walking distance of a lot of things, and close to bus lines and subways, which were very helpful.

There is a fire station a block away, and especially on Friday night there were sirens going frequently. This was also a holiday weekend, and the street next to our room was blocked off for outdoor parties, which we could still hear despite being on the 16th floor.

My stay at the hotel was peaceful, comfortable, and very clean. The location is excellent.

‏My only comment is that drinking water is provided for $5 to guests who do not have a loyalty membership. I was unaware of this when I booked my stay. ‏I kindly suggest making it complimentary for all guests, as is common in most hotels, as a gesture of hospitality rather than requiring membership.
