The location is excellent, easy access to the beach and restaurants. The room was comfortable enough, decent size and good amenities. The pool area was a highlight.

The lifts were extremely slow, it looked like a few were shut off despite being a busy weekend. The place is feeling a little dated - asking $25/day for wi-fi and no access to Netflix etc which are standard inclusions in most places these days.

You cannot get just a coffee or something light for breakfast in their restaurant. It is either the $45 full breakfast, room service or you go out to find something. Room only has nescafe instant coffee saches. Pretty poor for the type and standard of hotel

Great location in Broadbeach close to all amenities including dining, shopping and the beach. Nicely set up pool area which included a heated and non heated pool - heated was perfect for the cool September weather. All staff interaction was excellent - from assistance unloading our car, check in, delivery of luggage and even a bucket of ice to our room!

We booked through Bookings.com and were travelling with our nine year old daughter. Although we clearly booked a room for all of us the hotel had a King size room allocated to us. We are not in the habit of sleeping in the same bed as our daughter. Reception staff reallocated us to a room with 2 double beds but I am tall and the double bed was not very comfortable. I think that this is a problem with the interaction between Booking.com and the hotel as this happened when checking in to the Sheraton also.

We made an error with our booking and the staff were amazing at helping us to find a solution. The views were wonderful, the room was clean and comfortable with lots of options to upgrade your sleep (pillows, masks etc).

The only sad part was that the pool (a big draw card for our teenagers) was closed due a pump housing failure. The hotel had organised for guests to go to the pool across the road which was great but it deterred our girls from using the pool at all. Obviously this couldn't be helped and we understand, it was just a little sad for our experience.

The Hotel is ideally located for visiting Broadbeach. The staff were very professional and friendly. I had a classic queen bed ocean view room. quite spacious and modern although the bathroom is very dated. There were 3 very large fluffy bath sheets, two hand towers and two face cloths. Plenty of glasses in the bathroom and the room. A reasonably sized balcony with two chairs and a side table. Curtains are very effective in blocking out morning light. Plenty of pillows. I booked with breakfast and it was full of choices. It was nice to be offered coffee on arrival and egg orders were gladly taken and brought to the table.

The shower is small. There are no amenities other than squeeze bottles of body wash and shampoo. There is only one chair in the room, so a second person has to sit on the bed to watch TV. The shower is very small and cramped. There were two drinking mugs but only one spoon. No plates or other cutlery. No coffee maker machine. Just a kettle.

Very quick to help any time I had an issue. The maintenance on the aircon was there within a few minutes and everything was fixed when I came back to the room with a note to how to manage if the room was then too cold which I appreciated. Pool access and towels very easy to get to and utilise. The facilities were fantastic for the business conference, food provided was also really lovely. Location of Sofitel felt smack bang in the middle of everything you need, Woolworths around the corner, great restaurants all around, ice cream across the road, shopping district right next door. For someone with an injury it made the trip so much easier!

Lifts could be a bit of a pain, sometimes it was hard to know which was going where and I got in when it was going up one time and I couldn't select my floor until I went all the way to the currently selected floor. I had two separate bookings for the days I was there, one in a double room and then in a king room. Through the booking.com website I was told they would make a note to have same room for my stay, when I arrived that was not available to me. It wasn't a big deal, I didn't mind moving, it was just a bit of a let down as I hadn't realised that would be the case. Things happen though!

Everything else was good.

After booking we were charged an extra $25 per day for carparking. This should be illegal or at least confirmed before booking. Basically adding to the already over inflated accommodation rate. I will go elsewhere, likely Peppers across the street with bigger rooms. Breakfast was very expensive compared to local restaurants for half the price.

Lovely welcome with beautiful foyer, friendly helpful staff and a glass of bubbly on arrival. Clean modern rooms, quiet and dark for sleeping. Great comfy mattress and pillows. Lovely toiletries. Coffee machine.

Small beds - double. Booking.com gave incorrect price for parking. Staff knocking on door despite ‘do not disturb’ sign and late checkout.

We had a good sized room with an ocean view. The King size bed was comfortable and the amenities in the room were good. The staff were friendly and helpful. The 11am checkout is also good and we could leave our car in the car park until 2pm with access to the hotel facilities after checkout. Buffet breakfast in the Bistro had a good selection of food including separate gluten free section with its own toaster. The chef cooked a good selection of food. The service was very good.

Breakfast was fantastic, so much to choose from. Centrally located to restaurants and cafes, close to the beach. Loved the great housekeeping staff who made up our room each day just beautifully. I asked if something special could be done as we were staying for our 25th wedding anniversary and there was a bottle of wine and a little note left for us I. Our room upon arrival which was just lovely.
