Nice room. Very clean with good sized bathroom
Housekeeping woke us up by knocking on the door very loudly and continuously at 8.30am. When we didnt answer, they actually opened the door to come into the room. They knocked loudly and continuously again at 9.30 am and on the way up from breakfast asked us what time we would be checking out at. Check out wasn't until 11am. I dont think that the morning of your stay should feel like they are rushing you out the door.

Location excellent, room a little cramped but ready early which we appreciated. Friends given room very close by at our request.
I paid at the desk for 3 breakfasts, the message did not get through to the dining room - I was challenged twice by one of your staff. I followed up and he discovered that it was human error on the part of the staff. I had to ask for an apology. Which was given rather reluctantly. He should have followed up with me immediately and admitted the error on the part of the staff and apologized to me. I shouldn't have had to ask for an apology. Otherwise all staff were helpful, courteous and did their best to make our stay a success.

The location was fantastic - just a few minutes walk from the main shopping area in the city centre. The room was lovely - very comfortable and spacious, with nice facilities. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful - The hotel manager, Uros, even came out to grab a taxi for us to the airport at the end of our trip, as there were protests on in the city centre, preventing the normal buses from running.
The breakfast wasn't the best. It was a buffet - but pretty chaotic - especially with lots of tables everywhere, and not even clear as to what was still free or not. The cereal holder had lots of cereals categorized, but only about three were available! Staff were slow to refill glass supplies, etc. Not much catering for coeliacs.

The hotel is within walking distance of the main attractions and public transport. The staff is friendly and helpful but not intrusive. Breakfast is available at the hotel. The room is clean and cozy, with a comfortable temperature. Everything you need for a short stay is provided, including a hairdryer, a kettle, tea, coffee, and cream.
The soundproofing could be better, or there could be clearer rules of conduct for guests who choose to resolve their family issues in public spaces in the middle of the night (though this is more about the upbringing of certain guests than a fault of the hotel). Having a heated towel rail in the room would also be nice.

The Hotel far passed what I expected the staff were amazing very helpful at front desk and in the restaurant. rooms were clean and quite modern with everything you'd need for a break. The location was perfect just a 10mins walk and your at Temple bar. Airport bus drops you off almost outside the hotel so perfect. breakfast was buffet everything you'd need proper jucies and coffee not cheap watered down stuff you get in other hotels. would definitely stay here again and would recommend to friends and family.
not really any bad points to mention apart from the bath towels being quite small.

All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was fine and the bed was really comfortable. The hotel is nice and large downstairs with lots of chairs and the coffee served at the coffee bar is good. Our room was cleaned promptly every morning. There is a taxi rank nearby so it was easy to get a taxi when needed.
The room became too warm during the night so we had to open the window and it tended to be quite noisy. There is air conditioning but we didn't want to use it as it tends to make us sick which is our problem!

The location was so convenient I canceled a booking at another facility for my return to Dublin and booked into the Academy Plaza again! Even though construction was going on on the ground floor, my rooms were small but very quiet and comfortable. In my second room I had trouble with the heating and a staff member brought a space heater to me. It never did get warm so I ran the space heater the entire time. But everything else was great.
I'd skip the breakfast buffet next time. It was pretty ordinary eggs/sausage/beans/tomatoes/toast/cereal/coffee. Not a lot of fresh fruit. But it did the job.

Location
I have used booking.com for at least 50 hotel stays and have never requested a change or cancel a room. On this occasion I had booked a non refundable room and I did request a change of date as 2 people had to cancel. This was not facilitated. I cannot understand this as it was the All Ireland final weekend and the room would have been filled. We stayed for the night as I did not want to loose 325e for the quadruple room but only 2 of us could travel. Why could a change of date not be facilitated? I understand it was a non refundable room but this has really disappointed me. I have deleted the booking.com app from my phone and will use another search engine in the future.

I liked the hotel a lot; The hotel and the room was comfy and felt modern, the staff were very friendly, the location is great specially if you are using Aircoach to travel from/to the Airport since O'connel's bus stop is 2 mns from the Hotel. Ate the breakfast once. It was good but it's the same as most hotels so I decided to skip it the remaining days. There's decent coffees near the hotel for a different breakfast experience. The hotel is being renovated but only heard noises during the day time. If like me, you are only in the hotel mostly for sleeping, it won't affect you.
Nothing particularly concerning the Hotel, but O'Connel is getting rough. Economic problems are getting worst and you can see it in the people.
