Perfect location, easy access to Dockside ferry and close to Kangaroo Point bridge to walk into the CBD. Location was also great for Ubers and only 20 minutes from Brisbane Airport. The bed was incredibly comfortable, good selection of teas and coffee. The room was clean. Lovely views from the balcony. Staff who we would opportunistically see in the lifts were very polite and friendly. Easy check in and check out.

Google Chromecast/wifi - streaming TV episodes at night was very slow, I assume due to increased traffic at this time. No issue during the day. The bathroom was quite dated in the balcony suite. Of course the website shows photographs of the bathrooms in all other room types except for the balcony suite room. It would have been nice to know what to expect, rather than assume it would resemble the other rooms. There was also no storage in this particular bathroom, the hair dryer was kept in the bedroom wardrobe and that took some time to find. Toilet paper was incredibly thin.

Our room was nice and the staff were lovely. Massive shout out to Tom our waiter in the restaurant. He was really wonderful.

The prices in the restaurant were a little exorbitant. Our room was $190 for the night and with dinner and breakfadt we spent another almost $250. We got to the buffet breakfast at 9 and the food was no longer fresh and had stopped being replenished. $45 per person for a buffet breakfast is way too much for the quality and range of food available. Dinner was nice but not $150 nice. Professional and ambient yes, but would I eat there again?, no. I can get a delish parma and a beer in a vibrant pub for a third of that price.

Good location, nearby Dockside stop for access into city via River City Cat.To walk via pedestrian bridge about 20mins to the Botanical Gardens. A 10min walk to a good local cafe for breakfast and local bar. Room was large and spacious.Good WiFi. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean, but tired and in need of refurbishment. Roof top bar was only open on one of the days of our stay for guests,(closed for private functions) although pleased we did get to enjoy the amazing view of the city from the area 😀

The location was great, a short walk down to the footbridge across the river takes you right into the botanical gardens and the centre of Brisbane, where the Queen St Mall etc are. Public transport was only 50c a ride! The view from our room was lovely. Room had two tvs, two sliding doors out onto the balcony. Carpark was roomy and super easy to navigate. Lots of visitor parking as well. A great place to stay, we would book again.

Only minor gripes - our room had no cutlery or plates, so when we wanted to have dinner in our room we had nothing to eat off. The shower was above a corner bath, and to get out you had to step over the high side, was ok for us but not suitable for elderly. Drains in bathroom had a horrible smell.

Very good value - I had a suite with a closed bedroom, a living room, and a large balcony that I could have had a BBQ on if I had one. Very comfortable bed. Staff were reasonably friendly.

It was farther from the conference centre than I realized - about 45 minute walk or 45 minute bus. The weather was pleasant and it's an interesting walk over bridges and through the city and a lot of people are out walking or jogging so it didn't feel so long. There are buses but they are infrequent. Travellers should know it's a little run down - others have mentioned rooms need to be renovated - it did not bother me because it was clean.

The customer service my partner and I received from the front desk on arrival was exquisite, and the ease of check in was a breeze, along with the ease of checking out and the amazing option of being able to check out until 12pm too (although we decided to check out at 11am). Not to mention, the view of the story bridge at night from our balcony was amazing and our room also overlooked the pool, which looked pretty cool too (although we didn’t end up going down to the pool in the end). The balcony suite was flawless with separate bedroom with mounted wall tv just past a living area with couch and tv that opens as you walk in and leads out to the balcony. There was also a seperate bathroom with huge corner shower/bath, which can comfortably fit two people for a nice relaxing bubble bath! I also liked the touch of having the water bottles from Mount Tambourine set up on the bedside tables when we arrived and everything was very clean, neat and tidy on arrival too :)

I had made a reservation for the rooftop bar through Scoopon and upon arriving the reservation wasn’t on the list so I became a bit anxious. However, in saying that the manager was extremely accomodating and honoured the reservation. I would however suggest that it be explained to patrons that to order drinks you need to go up to the bar and not just wait at the table to be served as we received our cheese platter but were unsure as the procedure to order drinks. Perhaps it may also be a good idea to let patrons entering the bar for an 8pm reservation know that the bar closes at 9pm and that the kitchen is already closed as we wanted to order some additional nibbles/meals to the table to go along with the cheese platter, but were unable to do so sadly :(

We stay at The Point regularly due to the special rates they often have on offer, the relaxing pool area and the location. It's so easy to walk to the river, the ferry stop for the City and to restaurants and cafes. Staff are always friendly and helpful, and although the Balcony Suites are in desperate need of a refurb, we love the extra space and the river views.

Our allocated room was very clean but it had an awful odour and the bed wasn't comfortable - sagged on one side. We were also disappointed to discover they now charge for parking, which does add to the overall nightly cost.

Stayed in the Suite room racing bridge and city side - unfortunately traffic was very loud so awake from 6am onwards each morning. The blinds in bedroom did not cover the window so again, woken by natural light and traffic resulting in not great sleep over the two nights. The staff and location were excellent. Room, whilst unfortunate location in building was very clean and comfortable. 12pm check out with no extra charge was a bonus. Next time will ask for room on east side of the building or facing forward.

Noise and limited blinds in bedroom forcing 6am wake ups

The Point Hotel was far more impressive than I was expecting. All staff, front desk, restaurant and housekeeping were super friendly, professional and welcoming. As a former hotel manager myself, in London, I would have been super proud to have had them on my team. The room was spacious and comfortable with great views on the eastern side. The bed was perfect for a good night sleep and bathroom spacious. The restaurant "Lamberts" was wonderful. The food was superb and the staff amazing. I would definitely stay here again.

Bathroom had a bath shower combo which was a little difficult to access as I have a slight mobility issue with my legs, but this was totally my fault for not mentioning in advance. I suggest if you do have mobility issues to be sure to advise in advance and see if a walk-in shower is an option. I did not bring this to their attention so not sure if they actually have them available.

I have stayed at The Point many times over the years and never had any real problems although I would say that the Breakfast off the Menu, whilst acceptable, was not always the best part of the stay. How good it was to see that they have introduced one of the best buffet breakfasts I have experienced. The range of food and choices was excellent and overall great value for money. It was my motivation for writing this review and I hope they get many more positive comments about the breakfast so it there to stay.

It would be good if guests could get more opportunity to visit the rooftop bar. I have managed to gain entry once or twice to experience the great views but if nearly always seems to be booked out for private functions. Maybe if a section could be left aside or something but it nshould be available for guests more often in my opinion
